- Philosophers for Sustainability has a website with resources for academics who want to teach on the climate crisis and reduce their climate pollution. The organization defines sustainability in broad terms.
- The American Philosophical Association has decided to hold one of every three divisional meetings online, on a three-year trial basis. The decision was made in response to a petition initiated by Philosophers for Sustainability.
- The Middle East Studies Association decided to move its 2024 conference mostly online, partly because of concerns about climate change.

- Some European universities have banned short haul flights
- FlyingLess (https://flyingless.de/en/), not to be confused with flyingless.org, is a Europe-based organization also dedicated to reducing academic flying. It has prepared this helpful action and policy guideline.
- Scholars at ETH Zurich have proposed the following “Measures for Academic Air Travel Reduction.”
